The ship sails through the most popular spot of Alaska that is the Tracy Arm Fjords. The ship takes a halt for half an hour or so for you to capture those melting Glaciers in your camera and camcorder.
Nestled between 3,000-foot-high granite walls, the narrow, twisting slice of ocean called Tracy Arm Fjord weaves through the Tongass National Forest for roughly 35 miles. The dramatic Sawyer Glaciers at the end of Tracy Arm are framed by mountains on either side, and are often bathed in a light mist that amplifies the blue hue of the ice. The glaciers also are home to black and brown bears, wolves, deer and moose, and seals and whales make their home in the fjord’s icy waters.
After breakfast the guests and get off the ship and take one of our recommended shore excursions or just walk around the pier. Sitka is an Alaskan city and borough near Juneau, the state capital. It was part of Russia until 1867 and St. Michael’s Orthodox Cathedral is topped with an onion dome. The 1842 Russian Bishop’s House is nearby. Sitka is famous for its fishing, both commercial and recreational. Sitka offers superb hiking with dozens of trails that begin in the lush rainforest that surrounds the city and often end up high in the mountains. Many of these trails are located in the Tongass National Forest, the largest national forest in the United States.

After breakfast our guest can get off the ship for enjoying one of the shore excursions they booked from the cruise liner. Juneau has been called “Alaska's peak experience,” certainly due in part to its unparalleled glacier viewing from such places as Tracy Arm Fjord, the Juneau Ice fields and Glacier Bay National Park. Kayak up one of the area's many protected waterways, go flight seeing, tour historic downtown or try your hand at panning for gold. Juneau is the capital of Alaska and one of the most famous cities to see Salmons and king crabs. The ship reaches the port in the afternoon so our guests have ample of time to walk around the ship, participate in a trivia or a treasure hunt that is arranged for you by the onboard staff. When the ship docks in Alaska we recommend you take one of the shore excursions from the ship, as they say no roads lead to Juneau, which gives the Alaskan capital a misty inscrutability. The massive Mendenhall Glacier and the immense Juneau Ice fields are at its back door. You can shop downtown or get out and kayak, dogsled, raft, hike, whale watch, flight see or fish.
